The histories of youth in foster and adoptive families often involve details that can feel difficult to discuss as a caregiver. Learn how to share your child’s history with them in ways that promote healthy communication, offer developmentally appropriate language, and support the reduction of potential negative internalizations. Navigating these conversations with youth whose backgrounds specifically include abuse/neglect/domestic violence, substance abuse, incarceration, rape/prostitution, and human trafficking will be discussed.

What is ABA (applied behavior analysis)? How can ABA support our children and youth from hard places? Is there such a thing as “trauma-informed ABA”? These questions and more will be explored in this webinar focused on behavior supports for children and youth in foster care and what makes an ABA program trauma-informed. Our instructor will discuss the basics of applied behavior analysis, behavior assessments and treatment plans that take trauma and adverse childhood experiences into account, as well as interventions common in the ABA world that might be contraindicated when working with children and youth who have experienced abuse, neglect, and other ACEs. We will also discuss questions to consider when interviewing ABA providers to find a best fit for your family, and the youth you support, as well as securing funding for ABA services via Medicaid.

Join functional health coach Justin Carroll and former foster parent/current adoptive parent Stacey Hansen as we dive into ways that our minds and bodies can find health again.

How long are you willing to work to become who you want to be? Join functional health coach Justin Carroll and former foster parent/current adoptive parent Stacey Hansen as we dive into ways that our minds and bodies can find health again.

If you can cultivate your breath in the middle of the mess, in the middle of the chaos, where there are 100 items of peril around, you can change your world.

No heavy weights (the #kettlebell might have cried in the corner), simple movements filled with breath.
If you can learn to breathe in the middle of chaos you can breathe anywhere.
The breath found in the mess is the catalyst that brings chaos into order.

Learn to make space to practice letting things go, releasing outcomes, and allowing your body to rest and repair so it does all the things you need it to.

Some days that means breath-work and meditation, other days that means deadlifts and cardio, and other days its means naps, a fire, and coffee.

When you are becoming who you want to be it may take you longer than you want but it is worth every moment.

    1) How cases end

    2) Timeframes for cases ending

    3) APR vs TPR

    4) Adoption

    5) Adoption related issues (subsidies, PACA)

    6) RGAP

    7) Contested placement issues

    Feedback from this class:

"Tim is incredibly knowledgeable (obviously), but has a great skill to be able to clearly explain these really complex issues. I wish this training was included when certifying foster parents!"

"Tim is so great, very knowledgeable, very candid about how the laws work and how they don't.  He did a great job of presenting in a logical order, and answering questions as they came up."

"Tim Eirich is the best. He quite literally "wrote the book" for some of these things, and he should be leveraged as often as he can for training purposes."

    Financial Advisor and Co-Founder

    Better Pockets Financial

I was drawn to becoming a Financial Advisor by recognizing the unmet needs that individuals, families, and businesses have in making informed decisions with their funds to achieve their version of financial wellness. As a result, I started Better Pockets Financial – alongside Josh – to continue making a positive impact on others.

The thread of commonality that links all my professional roles is my personal mission to make a positive impact on others, so they can subsequently foster their own positive impact on others, creating a community-level movement towards positive change! As such, I value building strength-based relationships, having candid conversations, comprehensive planning, and working cooperatively in a trustworthy manner.

I am a native of Colorado and have lived along the front range and mountain regions. I received a bachelor's degree in Social Work from Colorado State University (CSU) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Regis University. Additionally, I have obtained certifications from the Project Management Institute (PMI) and the American Society for Quality (ASQ).

When not working, I enjoy spending time with my amazing wife, Carla, our cockapoo dog, and extended family. My interests – which I am always happy to discuss – include restoring/driving classic automobiles, attending cars-n-coffee events, travelling domestically and globally, listening to a diverse selection of music, and experiencing other cultures. And, the mountains call to me regularly, so I look for opportunities to go fishing, hiking, camping, or exploring.

Outside of work, I volunteer with local non-profit organizations to give back to our community.

    Better Pockets Financial

I stumbled into financial services right out of college after accepting an internship with an annuity and insurance provider. My goal was to gain experience while looking for another job but turns out the experience was so good that I stayed for over 4 years. While supporting financial advisors, I helped solve some of the financial challenges their clients face. But ultimately, it wasn’t the right role for me, so I moved to England to earn an MBA from Manchester Business School (for any “football” fans – GGMU!) Life brought me back to Colorado and eventually to a position working with local and state governments, focusing on improving retirement plan offerings and outcomes for their employees. Again, I gained more great experience in roles that just weren’t for me.

During this time and for a plethora of reasons, I accepted that the corporate world might not be for me. With both companies, I was able to help solve problems and offer solutions that really helped my clients. But I also was exposed to some of the gaps in our current system, where far too many people are being left behind. I really hate that part the most – so many people just don’t have access to the help they need. That led to Clint and I launching Better Pockets Financial. We want to have an impact by helping you have an impact – through relieving financial stress, allowing you to live the life you want.

Life brought me back to Colorado and eventually to a position working with local and state governments, focusing on improving retirement plan offerings and outcomes for their employees.
