Making a list of your favorite “self-care” strategies sounds amazing. Until you realize that real life doesn’t really leave much time for yoga classes, spa treatments, or vacations. Real self-care starts with the ability to make meaning from your foster care experience and connect with that meaning when tough times set in.

Join Karen Wolf, LCSW in a workshop designed to help you get back in touch with the roots of taking care of yourself and others.

The last 45 minutes of this training will be a trauma-informed yoga session led by Foster Source team member Hannah Gross.

PLEASE NOTE: Disregard the verification code given at the end of the video. It is no longer required.

Cost: $25 (As always, free for foster parents!)

Training Hours: 2

What People Are Saying:

"It will help me to relax - breathe - stay less stressed."

"By learning how to take care of yourself so you can also assist the foster children take care of themselves."

"I liked my first yoga class so much I immediately went home and bought my own yoga mat. I will continue to use yoga as a stress relief tool. I also learned that some behaviors don't always present themselves as clear cut secondary trauma."

Hannah Gross (Moderator)

Hannah is a Senior at Luther College in Iowa pursuing a Bachelors of Arts in Social Work and Nordic Studies. She is completing her practicum at Foster Source. Before her start at FS, she had never been to Denver, let alone Colorado before, so she was excited to try something out of her comfort zone! She doesn’t have plans for after graduation in May of 2020 yet, but she would like to end up in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area one day.
