Widening the Window is a session designed to provide basic information about the Window of Tolerance concept, first developed by Dr. Dan Siegel. All people have an optimal zone of emotional arousal where they can function effectively, manage stress, and process emotions rationally. Some people have a wider window than others as a result of both internal and external factors. Following a short presentation, you will have a chance to apply your learning by playing a cooperative game, Widening the Window, that Karen designed to make the Window of Tolerance concept come to life. This training is for all levels of experience and can support folks with a better understanding of what factors impact level of functioning and how to keep children, adults, and themselves inside the Window of Tolerance more often.
