Foster and kinship caregivers take on the health and well-being of children who often arrive with unfamiliar medical histories, pending paperwork, and urgent needs. Figuring out how to get care covered, and whom to call when something goes wrong, shouldn’t be one more thing to navigate alone.

Join us for a panel discussion with experts and advocates who will walk through how healthcare coverage works for children in foster and kinship care, including:

  • How to confirm a child’s Medicaid enrollment and what to do if it lapses
  • Finding providers who accept Medicaid, including dental, vision, and behavioral health
  • What’s covered, what requires prior authorization, and how to appeal a denial
  • Whom to contact at the county and state level when you hit a roadblock

The second half of the program is reserved for your questions.

Free breakfast, amazing children's activities provided by Cobbled Streets.
