During this uncertain time, a concern for all parents is how to best manage our children's emotional health while keeping them physically safe and adhering to guidelines. This training provides information around the concept of socialization as a key part of development. As we unpack the concept of socialization, we explore considerations for foster parents. This time will offer an opportunity for collaborative discussion around integrating our children into social settings within our "new normal".

Cassandra Williams is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing outpatient therapy and clinical supervision in Northern and Eastern Colorado. She completed both her Bachelors and Masters Degree in Social Work at Colorado State University, following her Associates of Arts at Front Range Community College. Prior to entering the field of complex developmental trauma and attachment disruption, she provided services at varying levels as a Victim's Advocate, School Social Worker,  and a provider for adult offenders. She has extensive experience with family systems, including foster and adoptive. She has and continues to receive expert consultation in treating complex developmental trauma, attachment, childhood sexual abuse and parenting supports (including parents of abused children). She turned her attention to attachment work approximately 3 years ago when she realized that attachment truly is what grounds us to ourselves and the world around us on an emotional level, and that she could be an agent for repair in families.
